A1 Pest Control

A1 Pest Control was founded by Bruce Gow, whose pest control training began in 1984 at Ultimo TAFE, and who completed the Specialist Termite Control Course on 17 July 1994. Over more than 40 years the business grew from one vehicle to eight service vehicles.

A1 Pest Control provides pest control for termites, cockroaches, ants, rodents and bed bugs, uses a Fluke thermal inspection camera for termite inspections, and recommends Greenzone Termite Barriers, which combine a physical and chemical barrier. The company also operates as a termite broker connecting clients with licensed termite specialists.

In Sydney, A1 Pest Control has built a reputation through repeat business and consistent word of mouth. Customers in several reviews describe Bruce as the central figure, handling everything from phone bookings to on-site treatments, with Lisa also named for thorough termite inspections. Common insects such as cockroaches and ants are a frequent focus, and reviews regularly refer to end of lease flea treatments for rental properties, often noting that the pricing came in below other quotes. Possum removal using hired traps is another service that comes up, with successful relocation of brush tail possums from roof voids.

Termite work includes baiting installations and barrier systems, and one long-standing client has used the team for nearly three years for annual treatments. A theme running through the feedback is the clear communication before and after each job, whether explaining warranty terms during a termite baiting install or providing advice following an ant treatment. Customers also value the prompt responses, careful handling of installations and the tidiness of the work. The removal of cockroaches from a property being sold, after tradespeople had left doors open, is one example of the team adapting to an unexpected situation.
